The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) was established in the year 1998.
NALSAR was ranked second in India by The Week’s “Top Law Colleges In 2017” and has consistently maintained the second position in India. NALSAR students have excelled in every field, whether its National or International Moots, debates or other co-curricular activities.
Students from NALSAR have received prestigious Rhodes Scholarship several times since its inception.
NALSAR has excelled in various National and International moots. A Moot Court is a virtual courtroom where lawyer(s) argue with each other in the presence of a Judge. In the Law School circuit, Moots hold high significance, coming right next to the academic grades.
The library at NALSAR is a host to more than 30,000 titles covering various fields of study ranging from law to social sciences. Subscriptions have been made to more than 100 newspapers, magazines and journals. The reference section of the library stocks complete volume sets of the most prestigious and well known journals and compilations in the field of law.
Admission to the 5-year Integrated Program is purely based on merit determined through a Common Law Admission test (CLAT) conducted by the 18 participating law schools in rotation.
NALSAR has an intake capacity of 105 students of which 81 seats are for the general category students.
