The Bar Council of India has decided to increase the upper age limit for LLB to 22 years after the Supreme Court had induced its General Body to take a ‘good decision’ in this regard.
The age limit of 20 years was re-imposed last November by the BCI, two years after its withdrawal (in 2014).
The imposition of the age limit was causing inconvenience and confusion to a large number of students who had dedicated several months to prepare for the entrance till it was imposed, in November, leading to several petitions being filed all across the country.
The BCI is expected to convey this decision to the Supreme Court on Friday when the matter is listed to be heard.
